The Founder

The person you meet is the person who does the work.

Robbins Americas is founder-led by design. Every engagement is carried personally by James Robbins — three decades of operating the Americas channel, now working for brands entering it.

James Robbins

Founder & Principal, Robbins Americas — founded 2020.

The method is the product of three decades operating the Americas channel — from Toshiba to Panasonic to Apple, and ultimately as General Manager of Dynabook Americas (formerly Toshiba PC Company) — across work ranging from a single $125M national reseller relationship to a $4B+ global revenue line spanning 100+ countries.
  • Leadership that has carried the number, not advised on it — quota-bearing, P&L-owning roles across the entire arc.
  • Five years reporting to a parent company overseas: your board's questions are questions he has answered in their format, on their calendar.
  • Channel-first by conviction: partner economics, distribution, and rules of engagement are the native language here.

The record, chapter by chapter

Three decades. Four brands. One through-line.

ToshibaEleven years · field to channel leadership

Three levels of sales leadership across distribution, reseller, and retail — the foundation years, learning the US channel from inside the machine that runs it.

PanasonicFive years · Toughbook channel leadership

Led channel sales for a demanding public-sector and public-safety business — where compliance, contract vehicles, and partner trust decide everything. The gates on this site's map were learned here firsthand.

AppleEight years · reseller channel to worldwide small business

From building a single national reseller relationship into a $125M business, to directing the Western U.S. reseller channel — $500M+ in channel revenue growing at 25%+ — to leading Apple's worldwide small business revenue line: a $4B+ global line spanning 100+ countries, built by empowering local teams rather than exporting a playbook.

Dynabook AmericasGeneral Manager · full Americas P&L

Ran the entire Americas business of Dynabook (formerly Toshiba PC Company) — the region returned to growth and profitability, new Latin American markets opened from zero, and a federal go-to-market built through the exact gates described on this site. Five years reporting to leadership in Japan.

Why "Track to Scale" exists

The method wasn't whiteboarded. It surfaced.

A structured deep-dive back through thirty years of operating work revealed the same sequence running underneath every build: map the market, find the right to win, earn the partners, run the discipline, expand what works. Naming it Track to Scale didn't create the method — it recognized one that had been proven for decades.

Track to understand. Understand to influence. Influence to sell. Sell to scale.
